A cornerstone of Melbourne’s live music scene, ‘The Ev’, as it’s affectionately known by Brunswick locals, is masterpiece venue.
With a sound system suitable for international artist requirements, it truly is a spectacular bandroom with a history to match.
The Challenge
Contracted by Johnston Audio Services to install L-Acoustics hardware, the biggest challenge was the time frame.
Our team at Element Audio had just a single day to remove the old system, install the new system and recommission the networked BSS integration for venue control.
A single day to achieve all that for one of Melbourne’s most respected live music venues?

The Solution
Johnston Audio Services had provided the design and hardware for this project. It was up to our team to integrate it to a standard that suited this amazing establishment.

L-Acoustics LA12X amplifiers deliver the brute power required for the ARCS II system that Johnston Audio Services specified for this space.
Complimentary to the ARCS II was the use of d&b audiotechnik D12 amplifiers & d&b audiotechnik MAX series wedges, used for stage fold-backs.
Once the old system was removed and the incredible ARCS II system was installed, a complete overhaul and recommissioning of the BSS Soundweb integration was underway.
This provided the venue with complete control of their new system, without losing any control functionality from the previously installed hardware.
