The Location
Naughtons Parkville Hotel is a stunning heritage listed building, located in the leafy suburb of Parkville. Just a stones throw from some of Melbourne’s great attractions and surrounded by inspiring architecture projects, like the Peter Mac Cancer Centre, this hotel really is a standout.
The Challenge
This project was completed in conjunction with our friends over at Disco Techs - who installed and commissioned the audio installation itself. Their team was able to identify the task at hand and complete the installation to a high standard.
Element Audio came into the project at the networking and integration phase. Our challenge was to implement a control system for the audio system that could also work in conjunction with the venues ordering & reservation systems.

The Solution
The primary audio installation completed by Disco Techs utilised the Quest range of loudspeakers. The system provided adequate coverage across the entire venue, while being non-intrusive or disruptive to daily trade or hotel guests. This is a critical factor of integrating an audio system into a hospitality environment, especially hotels.
Once the installation was commissioned, our Element Audio team stepped up to integrate the newly installed system with their existing telecommunications network and ordering & reservations systems.
The venue managers and staff typically access orders & reservation software through an iOS device. Our team designed a fully customized interface that would work in conjunction with their ordering & reservation software. This was achieved by integrating the installed system with BSS Soundweb hardware and networking everything together.
As per standard Element Audio procedure, our customization of the interface included matching the hotels colour schemes and using their logos to ensure the iOS device did not look out of place to customers.
The familiarity of such a design also makes using the audio software somewhat less intimidating for staff below management level.
